Historians' Walking Tours
A short walk, led by local historians, for people who enjoy and want to learn more about Saratoga County
Waterford Town Historian, Russ Vandervoort, will lead a walking town of downtown Waterford, describing local landmarks and influential residents who lived there in the mid-19th century We will hear Russ’ lively stories of local politician John Cramer, Lysander Button inventor of fire apparatus equipment and several others interesting residents of Waterford.
The walk will begin at the Harbor Visitors Center. There is some parking there, as well as Lock 2 Park, and the Battery. From there we will walk up 3rd St. to Broad St and then head to the Union Bridge area at the Hudson River and complete the walk on Maiden Lane and Pearl St. The participants who parked at the Visitors Center or the Battery will be less than two blocks from their cars. Lock 2 Park, a little further away.
Recommended donation is $10 per group (individual, couple or family), but please input the expected number of people in the group so that we can keep track of numbers.
